Is Your Child in the Right Car Seat?

This week is Child Passenger Safety week. According to the NHTSA, 3 out of 4 car seats are not installed correctly. If you know at least for moms, at least three of their kid’s car seat may not be installed correctly. Here is another fact: Using LATCH in the rear center position may not be the best option. According to an IIHS study of 2010-11 model year vehicles, only 7 of the 98 top-selling vehicles supported LATCH (your can read about LATCH here) installation in the rear-center seat. It’s a common mistake if you are not reading both the car manual and the car seat manual.

Some may not consider installing a car seat correctly as a priority, but considering that the number #1 killer of children under the age of 12 years old is car crashes, taking a few moments to learn to properly install a car seat and develop habits to pass on is important and the best protection for your child. We are here to help with proper installation if need. We have CPST (certified passenger safety technician) available to come to your home or where ever you need to help install your car seat and make sure that you have the correct car seat for your child. Take the time to call us today, isn’t it worth the peace of mind.
